- Synopsis:
In
the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to
instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit
Jewish community in the face of changing social customs and outside
forces. Tevye and his wife, Golda, struggle to match their three
eldest daughters with suitable husbands. Poor Tevye attempts to hold
on to tradition while addressing his children's blind passions. This
juggling act has him turning to God for guidance and some kind of
uneasy reconciliation. "Fiddler on the Roof" is a warm and personal
play filled with humanity and substance. You will be moved by
musical favorites such as "If I Were a Rich Man", "Matchmaker" and
"Tradition"!
